The Montgomery Selma District  is the only Presiding Elder's District assigned to the Alabama River Region Annual Conference, which is formerly known as the "Alabama Conference", historically recorded by the A.M.E. Church, as the first conference established in the great state of Alabama.

We are the proud Presiding Elder's District to Historic Brown Chapel AME Church in Selma, Alabama; which is officially documented as the first African Methodist Episcopal Church in Alabama.

The Montgomery Selma District is comprised of twenty nine (29) churches located in the beautiful and historic cities of  Montgomery, Selma, Centreville, Goodwater, Prattville, Montevallo, Calera, Valley Grande, Sylacauga, Autaugaville, Uniontown, Sardis, West Blocton, Alabaster, Minter, Clanton, and Brierfield, Alabama. The state of Alabama is currently under the Presiding Episcopacy of the Right Reverend Harry L. Seawright, the 133rd elected and consecrated Bishop of the church.  The Episcopal Supervisor is the Reverend Sherita Moon Seawright.

Thank you for visiting our website and we pray that your experience will be informative, encouraging and inspirational. We are the Mighty Montgomery Selma District.
